In line with the Government’s current projections regarding the COVID-19 Pandemic, we have now made the difficult decision to alter our original plans and postpone both our September and November plays, as well as our January pantomime.
To reiterate, none of our advertised productions have been cancelled, merely moved to a later date; our intention at this point is to open the next season in March 2021 with Philip King’s ‘See How They Run’, followed by Willis Hall’s adaptation of Charlotte Brontë’s ‘Jane Eyre’ in April, and Gail Young’s ‘Cheshire Cats’ in June.
Neil Simon’s ‘The Odd Couple’ (female version) and Jon Dixon’s ‘Sleeping Beauty’, which were to be performed, respectively, in November 2020 and January 2021, will now be performed in our 2021/22 Season.
Tickets for all productions will be on sale once we have confirmation that it is safe for us to reopen.
Again, we thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter. Tynemouth Priory Theatre is very much a “the show must go on” establishment, and we have not taken this decision lightly.
